Snowboarding

I first learned to Snowboard about 5 years ago. It was hard at first but since I had previous wake boarding experience I think that made it a lot easier to learn. I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of it but it took me a good couple of years to feel like I had finally gotten the sport down.

Last winter everything changed for me! I was up snowboarding with my fiancé and I took a bad fall! For some reason I just could not get the hang of feeling comfortable on the board, I was toe side to the mountain and I flipped backwards, when I landed I could not move my arm! My fiancé immediately called for help and the next thing I knew I was riding on a sled to the ER at the mountain.

After multiple ex rays they determined that my wrist was broken in multiple places. They also told me that I had to have emergency surgery that evening to put all the bones back into place! Now I have never broken any bones and I have never had surgery before so this was a very scary experience for me!

I am happy to say now that everything is said and done my wrist is pretty much back to normal. I do have a 3 inch scare up my wrist and a new addition to my body of 8 screws, 2 pins and a metal plate! That is what you get for loving a sport like snowboarding.
